Growing in Grace

The apostle Peter closes his second letter by encouraging his readers to "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." (2 Peter 3:18) Firmly rooted in the truth of God's word, Lakeshore Baptist Church desires to cultivate and fertilize the soil of our community with the gospel of grace, that it might spring forth in beauty to the glory of God.

Gospel Proclamation

We invite you to join us in one of our weekly services where verse by verse proclamation of God's word provides nourishment for spiritual health and vitality. We meet on Sunday mornings at 11:00 am. After worship through song, children ages 3-1st grade enjoy age specific Bible study and activities. On Wednesday evening, at 6:30 pm, we gather for a mid-week service of celebration for what God continues to accomplish in our community for his glory. Please make plans to attend this week's services. We look forward to seeing you there.

Mercy Ministry

Because God has seen fit to shower us with his undeserved mercy, we can not help but overflow with images of grace to our storm-ravaged community. Lakeshore Baptist Church distributes food, clothing, and other supplies to those recovering from Hurricane Katrina. The distribution center operates on the church property Wednesday - Saturday from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. We also host volunteers in the ongoing recovery efforts. Please visit RebuildLakeshore.com for more information and to plan your mission trip today.

Doctrinal Distinctives

In the spirit of the protestant reformation, Lakeshore Baptist Church holds to the doctrine of Sola Scriptura, which states that scripture and scripture alone is our only infallible rule of faith and practice. Although we affirm that no man-made creed or document can be set on equal footing as the authoritative Word of God, we feel that historical doctrinal statements can articulate to the world what we believe the Bible to teach on various issues, to educate ourselves, and to serve as a guide for theological accountability. Lakeshore Baptist Church embraces the Nicaean Creed (325), the London Baptist Confession of Faith (1689), the Mississippi Baptist Association Articles of Faith (1806), the Abstract of Principles (1858), the Cambridge Declaration (1996), the Baptist Faith and Message (2000), and the Together for the Gospel statement (2006). We encourage you to utilize these documents in your study of scripture that you may "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." (2 Peter 3:18)
